Book Review: Every Breath You Take by Hope Tarr

Agent Saritza Hernandez and I discussed expanding my reach into contemporary worlds and I thought what better way than to refresh how humans process emotions by reading through the 20 or so BLAZE novels I’ve collected.

Starting off with Every Breath You Take… By Hope Tarr was a good call.

His job is to watch over her. Every tempting inch… Scientist Alex is in over her head. It’s bad enough that a research trip to Belize has put her in danger. Then she finds out that her hired protector is ex-FBI agent Cole – the man who’d betrayed her five years ago. Re-appearing in Alex’s life is the biggest risk Cole’s ever taken. Once his undercover job forced him to abandon her. Now he has the chance to redeem himself – one scorching touch at a time. But first he must convince Alex that the safest place for her is in his bed…

Honestly, the fast pace of the book  kept me turning pages to find out more about these two different characters and how she played out a typical plot. The heart ache of these two characters and what transpired between them made me root more for Cole than anything else.  When you know you’ve let the right one go because you were stupid…

I can relate.

Added to my GoodReads shelf, an easy 4 stars.

Review: Wolf Magic from Beth’s Wild and Crazy Reviews

Paranormal Erotic Romance featuring hot werewolves, a sexy witch and more!“Wonderful Werewolf romance. It starts out explaining the history of Werewolves, then it goes into a hot romance. Young Were finds the love of his life and fulfills a strong destiny for all Werewolves futures. This story may be short but it is still packed with action and hot romance, best to be 18 to read this hot little book :D Loved it so can’t wait for part two. You got to love the mate combo of both wanting control and the female being older and calling him a young cub alot lol. <3 <3 <3 <3

I just found this review not more than a few minutes ago, detailing Wolf Magic, the first book in the Opeth Pack Saga.  Now that book is at Sizzler Editions and can be found on Amazon here and when I get the review link I’ll post that to properly credit Beth!  For those curious,

Wolf Magic is An enthralling contemporary fantasy, and a passionate erotic romance. Marco and Selene. Werewolf and witch. He is the sexy, rebellious young werewolf whose anger and violence are legendary.

She is a sexy, mature witch into whose care the elders of his pack have given Marco. At once she realizes he is more dangerous and powerful that the other werewolves. To Marco she is the most desirable woman he has ever met, and he knows he will never give up until he possesses her. As she attempts to show him wisdom, he subjects her to his very considerable charms.

Something has to give – and does. As nights of torrid lovemaking and nights of the full moon when he tears himself from her side alternate, neither suspects that they are at the center of a conspiracy by the leaders of Marco’s pack, or that they may all be pawns in an ancient prophecy from the dawn of time. For the love that binds them both is bringing death nearer with every beat of their hearts. Marco is strong and Selene wise, but these are as nothing to the power of the danger that threatens them. Cover: Laura Givens.

The URL is for the Amazon Kindle FYI!  Saritza (The ePub Agent) has the next three books in the series and as soon as I finish Burning for Derrick edits, get it to her satisfaction we’ll be sending out both series for sale!

Romance Novel Review – Master of Wolves by Angela Knight

Master of Wolves by Angela Knight

Buy from Amazon

Jim London is outraged over the death of his friend, a fellow cop and werewolf–and wants to get to the bottom of what he thinks was murder. The only way to find out is to go undercover–and, in his wolf form, Jim can do that better than anybody. There’s one complication: the new K9 handler, Faith Weston, is sexy enough to bring out the animal in any man.

I had to laugh at the scenario set up once I started reading the book. Being the K9 partner of a sexy woman and being able to see everything she does, from eat, sleep, shower, dress, etc made me wish I was that wolf.  Imagine Faith Weston’s surprise upon learning about her special K9 and then having to deal with the sexy Jim London.  Angela takes us on a unique journey in the Mageverse world, giving us a different spin on the vampire/wolf mythos along with some fun from the Arthurian Legends to create a fascinating world that entraps the reader and enthralls them for hours.  The sex is smoking hot, as would be expected by fans of Angela Knight’s E-books.  She’s a talented author, one I’ve read over and over again. The plot twist made the read more enjoyable.

She was and still is someone that inspired me as a writer and gave me direction on what and how I could write paranormal romance stories.  I was in the midst of book two of the Opeth Pack saga when I started reading her and I only wish I’d have discovered Knight earlier. Also for those who are pondering a career in writing romance, she teaches courses on fight scenes, sex scenes and is just a sweet humble woman.

Soon I’ll throw up a review about Jane’s Warlord, the first Angela Knight book that got me hooked.

Book Reveiw: Back in Black by Lori Foster

an erotic romance that's too hot to handle! If you’re looking to get away from paranormal and urban fantasy for a moment, look no further than Mistress of Erotic Romance – Lori Foster

Gillian is a PR expert hired to smooth out the rough edges on hot- headed sports club president Drew Black. He’s rough, raw and ready for any challenge Gillian throws his way. But which one’s going to end up on top?

This actually reminded me of my publicist and me.  How I’m kinda of crass and of the “I’m out of Give a Damn pills” mentality and she’s all “You’re a PR Nightmare LOL!”

I initially had trouble with the secondary story involving one of Jack’s fighters and another heroine but saw that it ultimately led to deepening the original plot.  It’s my hangup as a writer, and that bleeds into my reading habits.   There is a reason though that I consider Lori a goddess.  Her career and dedication to this genre is inspiring and her writing is nothing short of excellent.  The characters will draw you in, especially if you like your bad boy with a small dose of “Fuck” LOL!

Book Review: Demonfire by Kate Douglas

paranormal romance at it's best!  Kate Douglas breaks from her fame as the author of Wolf Tales to bring us a new series, Demonfire.

Newspaper reported Eddy Marks thinks she knows everything about her quite hometown. She couldn’t be more wrong. Turns out Evergreen, California, is the site of a vortex that allows demons to cross over to Earth, and the only one who can stop them is an unbelievably sexy fallen demon named Dax who has just crashed into Eddy’s life.

The action was hot, the story well written and the sex, well it’s Kate Douglas so you’d not be surprised to find it hot!

My take on this book is interesting.  Unlike her Chanku Alpha heroes, Dax is what I call a reluctant hero.  In this story we see a lot of uncertainty, questioning and guesswork along with the ride and it reminds me of a good lesson for not just readers looking to start a new series, but for writers who want to see a different path. Dax is NOT a bad ass.  He’s just a demon that ended up nearly being screwed over.  He’s not unstoppable, he’s not ultra strong.  In fact, he comes off as a simple, goal oriented demon with morals. I like that.  I think readers who want something different yet captivating will find it in Demonfire.  I DO hope to see how this series develops.
