Surrender to Love – a short blog update

Livia’s guest post on Heather Long’s blog gave us some insight into the mind of the female dominant, basically from a lessons’ learned perspective and was  a lot of fun to see, wasn’t it?  I hope I’ve converted a few new readers!  You’re going to be seeing a lot more of Livia, Bruce, Siddella and others from my Decadent books online as we start off an unofficial blog tour over the coming months.

I’m looking forward to sharing with you all!

More fun with Bound After Midnight

1boundaftermidnight1600x2400If you haven’t picked up this awesome powerhouse anthology you’re missing out on some of the hottest kinky paranormal romance to date!   I’m taking time to talk about the book today,  from the perspective of an editor.

Honestly, when you push authors to write something that’s pretty much a guaranteed sale, what does that mean to them?  From my perspective as an author I need only a few guidelines.  Genre, flavor (m/m, m/f, etc) and word count.

The character of Solan was more like a lost soul/warrior but the archetype (remember those of you who took my classes) that really stood out in the end was his need to conquer.  Himself, his land, his situation, his destiny.  Without a clear vision, our wandering samurai (ask about that!) had no direction other than to fight until he died.

There was a part of me who realized he needed something deeper and when I figured out what that was, who his match was based on people I know, I found a heroine easily.  Katherine, vampire, lover, submissive to only the one who could own her, would be a perfect match for our wandering warrior.

In the story she does give off clues of awareness of her part in his destiny but he’s so blinded by what he can see that he misses the obvious until Katherine’s life is at stake, literally.

Yes, if you’re reading this and we went to high school together, you know EXACTLY who I based Katherine off of.

I’m rather proud of the story and happy to be sharing space next to two of my authors at Sizzler Editions.

Bound After Midnight Cover – Erotic Paranormal BDSM Romancae

1boundaftermidnight1600x2400Finally, we wait no more!  The long awaited anthology from Sizzler Editions authors Margie Church, Bonni Sansom and me, “Bound After Midnight” has a a cover AND a release date!

Three tales of paranormal romance and bondage:

In my story Finding Eternity -

In search of his destiny, Solan is wounded by his opponent and left for dead.  Rescue in the form of a sensual vampire who drags him back to her castle and heals him.  Instant sexual attraction complicates things as Solan’s destiny unfolds before his eyes and he is faced with either learning true mastery, including owning the woman he’s growing to love, or watching her die before his eyes.

Katherine’s life has been unfulfilling until she feels the pull of her life mate slipping away.  Upon rescue, she realizes what sustains her is his love, not blood.  Except his uncertainties prevent him from fulfilling the role of Master to her slave.

Will Solan realize his true destiny is with Katherine or will she die of a broken heart?

Bonni Sansom brings us Hunter’s Bounty –

Being a Vampire bounty hunter had its perks. Lana Drake knew this all too well. But meeting her new client, Devon Brody awakens a bloodlust that brought out the submissive in her.

After Devon’s sister Zara is kidnapped, Devon hires Lana Drake, vampire bounty hunter to find her, only to negotiate payment with his blood.  After the first feeding, he quickly realizes her submissive nature pairs well with his Dominant side.

What starts off as passing time in a no holds barred sexual D/s relationship quickly progresses to something Lana can’t handle, until Devon reveals his true nature when he saves her from the vampire clan that kidnapped his sister.  Can Devon and Lana resolve their feelings for each other?

Margie Church leaves us with a taste of Cream On The Crop -

After growing up in politics, Neha Thompson craves privacy. Her new farm seems the perfect place to create a new life, until peculiar events bring the sheriff to her door.

Jamaal Cooper’s feelings about black rights angered some of the locals during the 1948 Freedom Train movement. His body was found on Neha’s farm, and his murder remains unsolved. For 65 years, his restless spirit has harassed the property owners, driving them away one by one. Neha is next.

When Jamaal uncovers Neha’s most secret desires, she’s faced with a choice to submit to this ghostly Master or be driven away like the others.

Now, for the release date:  February 21st!  Look out for this awesome anthology!

Teaching – BDSM in Romance: Understanding and Writing the Lifestyle

WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION: This workshop is for authors particularly in the romance genre who dabble BDSM in any form, be it writing spanking stories, light bondage, or like myself, heavier darker things.  Many folks think that once a book is written the author’s job is done.  Not so.  As any seasoned author knows, once we finish writing, we have edits, cover art choices, more edits, and of course the hype.  Marketing, promotions.  PR Hell as it is known in some circles.  That’s the toughest part of any author’s job IMO and will make or break any author dumb enough to rely solely on the publisher.  Our job as authors is a business and needs to be treated like such, even if we DO get to have a little more fun than any corporate schmo.  So, in order of author responsibilities:  1. Establish the Brand (I’m Sascha Illyvich, paranormal erotica/BDSM romance author)
2. Maintain the Brand (Primarily through PR, I write about wolves, fae, vampires, but you’ll never see me write a western!)
3. Grow the Brand (I write paranormal romances, which puts me in with the anime crowd who likes dark fantasy!)  This workshop will focus on Number 3:  Grow the Brand.  What authors often fail to realize is that in including different elements like spanking or light bondage that they are writing for their normal audiences but with a little more effort could target not just the fringe readers; those who are closeted about their darker desires, but those who are a little open with their darker desires.
ABOUT THE PRESENTER: As the Acknowledged Bad Boy of Romance, I have been writing and published in this genre for the last twelve years, worked two large BDSM events in Houston with HPEP, been actively involved on mailing list discussions, read a few books, met and spent time with Jay Wiseman (Author of SM 101: A Realistic Introduction)   I occasionally write for Paddedkink.com, a BBW BDSM site.  I’ve been on numerous BDSM panels am an active Lifestyle Dominant and have been vetted.  Oh, and as I mentioned before, my Mom is a Lifestyle Domme – meaning when she realized that she enjoyed kinky sex, she sought out knowledge and became who she is today, teaching her son proper play.  My previous workshop, Writing from the Male POV and creating better heroes was a success both at Coffee Time Romance and at Collette Thomas’s Erotic Workshop yahoo group.  I have taught this workshop for HHRW RWA chapter and Savvy Authors.

Review – The Playground a Decadent Publishing 1NS

Newest Release by Sascha Illyvich, erotic romance author at Decadent Publishing

Rae Spenser from Goodreads writes:  “I  found this story very intriguing. Sascha made ‘The Playground’ very realistic, where anyone could picture themselves in Devon’s or Shelly’s shoes by using a scenario that has affected most of us at some point in our lives. Closure is so important and I liked the emotional honesty the story displayed. The dom/sub being portrayed from a ‘non toys’ perspective, showing how simple clothes can be used, was a great addition allowing the honesty to grow along with the characters.”  – The full review can be found on Goodreads

Looks like my newer versions of DIY BDSM stories are paying off with readers who wish to see themselves in arousing situations with satisfying endings.  My two current 1NS stories from Decadent Publishing, and the third on the way deal with do it yourself bondage, dominance and things that don’t require an expensive dungeon despite the fact that the service itself may or may not be costly.  Madam Eve never talks price so…we can only assume that because of location, rigamarole and such that lots of dollars may have been exchanged.  I don’t know. I DO know that the fantasy of tying up one’s lover in the park is doable.

This trend of more DIY bondage stories started for me when I realized that living the Lifestyle was easy for ME, but not all of my readers have access to a fantastic dungeon nor do they have funds to purchase the myriad of whips and floggers I do.  I wanted to give readers something more accessible, more raw.  Basing the heroine from the first story in Forced Pleasure off a loved one who I treasure and consider a hot cougar gives that story a different flair.  The dominant in that story is younger, relatable to my age bracket yet arousing enough for the strong cougar female makes the story more realistic.  Erotica and Erotic romance are meant I believe to have an edginess to them in both emotion and arousal because humans need said things and sometimes need to make due without fancy dungeons and equipment.

In The Playground, Shelly learns the lesson slowly, that her worth was never a question.  She merely didn’t know it and it’s up to Devon to show her, using tactics that subdue on the sly.

I hope you’ve picked up your copy of The Playground at Amazon

Forced Pleasure is also available at Amazon – Ignore the wrong name on the book, it should be fixed ASAP!

New Cover Art – Bound For Love – BDSM Romance

Out SOON – From Sizzler Editions

Edited by Sascha Illyvich - Male Dominant, female submissive stories of erotic bondage and love

BOUND FOR LOVE – Tales of Erotic Bondage and the Heart

BDSM and Romance seem to be two worlds that one never think go hand in hand.  Yet, the most intimate of acts can include bondage.  Be it physical or mental, bondage holds a certain romantic aspect for those who indulge.    Starting with an office romance turned darker by desires made known, and continuing with a mental ride, the types of bondage in this anthology showcase that true power comes not from the outside, but from within the desire to be wholly owned by someone trustworthy.  The journey of romance is one fraught with tests, even more so when you add the theme of restraint, proving that nothing more powerful than the most purist form of love can survive all the roadblocks.  The stories in this anthology take the reader on a euphoric, sometimes overwhelming journey of love and acceptance through the forms of restraint.  Starting with Gianna Simone’s tale about a police officer in need from a coworker with a dark secret, we move to PM White’s tale of a poetry slam judge and the woman who sought him through time.  Long time author Marianne LaCroix serves up a dish of humble pie when she regales us with a tale of male submission, proving that great strength comes not from gender, but from person.  Oceania tickles our tootsies with a lighthearted spy tale while Sascha Illyvich shows us the true meaning of possession.  Clarice Clique reminds us that true submission comes not from experience but from the heart, no matter what Master may say.  Cèsar Sanchez Zapata once again proves that love at your Queen’s feet can be had if you’re willing to work for it while Marge T Felcher gives us a tale about a Dominant who truly loves every inch of his beloved submissive.  Margie Church and K. B. Cutter start something beautiful in Razor, leaving us to end on a high note thanks to Genevieve Ash’s tale about a woman who finds her true place by the man she loves.  All in all, Bound for Love is sure to please both novices and Old Guard alilke!

Weekly Blog Post Roundup and Book Review!

Been a busy week for me.  First, today I’m over at Brenda and Steve’s blog doing a simple Q/A on writing, my upcoming release “Surrender to Love” and sticking around for another day or so.  Find me here

Did ya’ll see the review for The Playground that Night Owl Romance gave it?  4.5 Stars!  AND a Top Pick

The folks at Night Owl said the following:  ” It was a hot and steamy love story with two characters that loved and lost and found love again in the unlikeliest of places.”  Read the full review here

I was at Tonya Kinzer’s blog last week.  I think I even gave away a book.  But the interview/blog posts she hosted may look familiar to some of you.  Still, peep the link and comment.  I’m sure I left her plenty of things to ponder while I caused trouble.

Did you pick up your copy of The Playground yet?  It’s now available on Amazon.com

Oh I turned in the second round of edits for “Surrender to Love” and that’s looking like a Feb 7th release.  I hope ya’ll enjoy another sordid tale of sweet, sinful seduction ;)

First Writer post of the new year!

It’s 2012, know what that means?  Officially I’m back in the office, a little later than I wanted but computer problems kept me down, then I didn’t sleep, typical bullshit.  Anyway, I’m back.  And looking forward to a great year coming up.

The Appearances page has been updated with where I’ll be though there are two cons not listed I might appear at if things work out.  I have a tendency to get my way so we’ll see.

Newest Release by Sascha Illyvich, erotic romance author at Decadent Publishing

I’m excited about my upcoming release from Decadent Publishing “The Playground” which still has a BDSM theme but I’m lightening the bondage content and going more towards DIY bondage.  The popularity of bondage stories demands I continue to write them, and since I actually LIKE them, we’re good with that!  But instead of taking the reader into a journey laced with leather and iron, I thought a more subtle approach in my bondage stories would be appreciated. Kind of a “take you there and then let you do it” approach!

There is a few Menage stories I intend to write, based on some older movies that stirred ideas I had, but we’ll see. Hell, I might even resurrect my Nights of Lust series and see if it’s got any saleability despite vampire romances being flooded.  I’ll talk more about that later. Hell I may even just share the first few chapters here to see what ya’ll think.
This year promises to be a busy one as I get back in the swing of things.  I’m excited, about upcoming releases, new romances and a new, even more productive year.  What are you waiting for, release wise?

Kinky Book Reviews Loves GIft of Her Submission

Review: Gift of Her Submission by Sascha Illyvich

Gift of Her Submission - Male Dominant Female submissive BDSM/bondage romance

Gift of Her Submission
Author: Sascha Illyvich
Publisher: Sizzler Editions
Purchase: Barnes & Noble, Amazon, Renaissance

Rating: 4 of 5 kinks!

Book Blurb:
A Man who Lives the Life writes His First Book about Dominant Men and the Women who are Their Slaves! With subs and former subs scattered across the country, bestselling author Sascha Illyvich has waited till now to create a picture of cruel masters who force the women they have chosen to submit and then teach them to love it! By turns savage, ravishing bdsm, and heart-pounding romance The Gift of Her Submission defies description.

Review by Gabrielle:
This book gives us a glimpse into the lives of Ronan and his three submissive’s. Each woman is unique and each one is special in her own way. There is a rubenesque woman who needs help with her self-esteem, a masochistic woman, and a woman who wants to learn and belong.  Each story shows us a pivotal time between each woman and Ronan.  The sex is hot and heavy but we also get to see the relationships that build between Ronan and the women. I enjoyed all of the woman equally. Every story had depth and emotions in it that made me like not only Ronan but the women as well.

Thank you Kinky Book Reviews!  I’m delighted you enjoyed my book.  I intended for the stories to touch the hearts and minds of the readers.  That’s why I felt this was a powerful look at BDSM and probably why the publisher told me this book had legs.  It’s still one of my highest rated books despite the followup attempts I’ve made to write another best seller in the same vein!

What’s on Deck for my Erotic Romance Career

Lots of interesting things going on in the world of publishing.  I’ve had a lot going on, including a partial rejection from Red Sage, that was more like a “Fix this issue and we’ll take another look because the story has potential.”  I woke up to that last Saturday and was pretty thrilled despite the hangover and previous bullshit on Friday.  (I’m dealing with government crap right now) I’m also burned out for the year.

That’s right, I have nothing left to create.  What I DO have are four projects in various stages of editing.

  1. Stalker has one scene that needs to be fixed.  Marisa has an issue with how it comes across and what it doesn’t add to the story so I’ve got to fix that.
  2. Burning for Derrick needs a complete editing job, it’s still in 1.5 draft mode.
  3. Submit to Him needs that extra something the editor at Red Sage mentioned.
  4. Surrender to Love needs me to fill out the contract/paperwork and get that back to Decadent Publishing.
  5. Both Burning For Derrick and Stalker have sequels both agents want me to work on.
  6. Oh and there’s a super sekrit project I and Amanda Rhea are undertaking.  Details will emerge on that soon.  Let’s just hope TV can handle it…

Plus I still have my editorial duties at Sizzler as the reviews are coming in from some of our new releases and I couldn’t be more proud!  However this is my AUTHOR platform so I’ll point you over to the Sizzler Editing Blog (mine anyway) in another post.

Plus we’re still getting hype from some of my earlier releases as I seek out reviewers.  I’m pretty happy this time of year, for once, despite how swamped I am.  At least I don’t have to struggle to create something entirely new.  Friday Flash Fiction will be updated until the end of the year then I might make it an archived section on the site.  Who knows.
